CAMEROON MODEL NICK PARKER MAKES HIS COUNTRY PROUD AT THE RECENT MAN OF THE WORLD PAGEANT HELD IN PHILIPPINES.

Nick Kevin is a Cameroon model who is also the 3rd runner up for
Mister Earth Fire pageant which was hosted in Philippines.
This year his one of the few African models who participated in Man of
The World Pageant which was held in Philippines. In an interview Nick
Kevin (NK) shares with us some his greatest moments during the Man Of
the World Pageant.

TR:Who is Nick Kevin Parker?
NP: Nick Kevin Parker is a 23 Cameroonian Model. I m a graduate of
Journalism and Mass communications.

TR:Tell us more about your modelling career?
NP: I started modeling in 2016, when i got the title of Mister Pacific
World Cameroon. With this title i was suppose to represent my country
at the next edition of Mister Pacific World 2017 in Peru, May 2017.
Unfortunately i couldn't travel due to visa issues. I didn't give up,
i kept working till i got other opportunities.

TR:You previously participated at Man of the World pageant, share with
us some of the experience that you had?

NP: Man of the world pageant is actually my second international pageant.
In April 2018 i left my country to take part in Mister Earth pageant
in the Philippines  in which i got the title of Mister Earth Fire
International 2018 (3rd runner up). This pageant took place 2 weeks
after i lost my father.I wasn't satisfied with Mister Earth pageant
because of the organization, so i joined Man of the world pageant.
This is an unforgettable pageant, i can say the best so far. This
pageant was not all about getting the crown but it was all about
brotherhood, building strong relationship. I liked the harmony and
friendship that existed among us contestants. It was such an amazing
experience since i met new cultures, new habits, lifestyles etc.....

TR:What was your greatest moment during the pageant?
NP: My greatest moment during the pageant is when i got a bronze medal
in swimwear competition. It was so amazing and i cried that day as i
remembered my father. I said to myself " your dad is happy, you made
him proud with this medal".
I Will also mention our different appearances in public where we
contestants were always welcomed with honors, respects; like Hollywood
celebrities.

TR:One might say Africa had few model who were contesting compared to
other continents. What do you think it means to Africa's modelling
industry ?

NP: In my opinion, i will just say that Modelling in Africa is still
trying to find its way. Many African countries don't support the idea,
as far as male models are being concerned. In my country for instance
modeling is always considered being a woman stuff.

TR:What would it mean if Africa hosted such an event?
NP: It Will be wonderful because this Will help Africa to come out
from the darkness an showcase his culture around the world, to make an
impact in the modeling industry and of course to promote our cultural
values, habits and talents to the whole world.

TR:Besides the man of the world pageant which other pageants have you graced?
NP: As i said earlier, Man of the world pageant is actually my second
international pageant. Mister Earth pageant was the first. I won't
stop at this point since other pageants are coming.

TR:You are based in Cameroon can you describe for us the modelling
industry in Cameroon especially for male models?
NP: Modeling in Cameroon is still crippling, poor especially for male models.

TR:Thank you for your time

NP:Thanks so much for this opportunity as you guys are promoting black
models around the world. I m so Grateful.

ZIM MODELS ARE GEARED UP FOR THE LATIN FRIDAY SHOW

Latin Fridays a fashion show which is celebrated in Zimbabwe every first Friday of the month in Harare was established 2 years ago. Where the audiences not only experienced the fashion show runway but also a night full of dancing to music and cuisine from different Latin countries. The show previously has hosted different fashion designers such as Tapfumanei Aka Coco;Reenzara,ZeeRat this year fashion artists such as Nandi Fashions,Tommy Classic Designs are among the list of those who will be showcasing their collection.Aftv caught up with two models who will be cat-walking during the first Latin Friday of this year ,which is going to be hosted in Harare. The two models spoke about their modelling history and what they think Latin Fridays is all about.

Malcolm Manyenga
I'm Malcolm Manyenga, second child out of three, aged 24 years old  and I am professional male model.
I've always admired models and everything they did just made me fall in love with the profession and I told myself I'm going to be one of the one day. I've been modelling for the past 3years and really this industry is not as glamorous as one might think but I still enjoy every bit of it. Just to name a few I've managed to model for some of the best brands like Econet wireless, have walked the catwalk at the Zimbabwe fashion week and really I'm still yet to achieve more and I know I can.
I've participated in the Zimbabwe fashion week, Latin Friday winter show, Rotaract Charity fashion show, etc.
Latin fridays is a platform to express yourself in many ways like you have to show your skills on the runway and your physic, and I'm hoping to get noticed from international iconic brands.
I'm inspired whenever I land a booking and every time I get a casting it really keeps me going and hungry for more in spite the fact that work might not really be there all the times still I always stays positive.
Warwick Beru
I am an extremely mature 24 year old part time interior design, shop manager by profession and novice model.
My short modeling career has opened the door to endless possibilities, both in Zimbabwe and internationally.
Today is Latin Friday, tomorrow who knows.
I was actually encouraged to model by a good friend of mine at the Latin Friday lingerie last year and absolutely loved it,I then thought  I had to come back again this year.
The Latin Friday show means a fun night out with family and friends, amazing trending apparel, gorgeous models and a night to remember.. My expectations of this year's show are limitless, but most importantly I hope to have fun above anything
My inspiration can be traced from David beckham, he started his career as a footballer and ventured into modeling to become the brand ambassadors for brands like Adidas and H&M and still has time for charitable events which is the direction I would like to see my career going.
