MEET UPCOMING MODEL CARL CUMMINGS

May 2019 will be recalled as a big day to
,up coming model Carl Cummings who is residing from Zimbabwe. As it was a day when his, journey in the modelling industry arosed.
In an interview with Carl Cummings,he doesn't only provide to us the roots of his career and also we get to know much about the designers whom he has been working with . Find out more about who Carl is ?.

TR:To those who don't know you,can you introduce yourself?
CC:My name is Carl Cummings, a 23 year old writer and model based in Bulawayo.

TR:At what time did you realise modelling was part of your life as a career?
CC:Sometime in May of 2019, I watched a Vogue fashion film and was in awe. What intruiged me was how the models expressed the idea and emotions in the film.
They were a canvas for the brush strokes of the outfits they wore.
This was the video that made me realise I wanted to express ideas and emotions in that way. This was what made me become a model.

TR:You are currently a freelance model, what does it mean working as a freelance model in the industry .And what are the challenges you facing?
CC:Fortunately for me, the challenges I face are not major. Having graduated from Truth Modelling Academy in February this year, I am still new to the industry. The challenges I face are personal challenges of having to improve and continue moulding myself into the model I wish to become.

TR:Any chances of you joining a certain agency in future ?
CC: I have no plans of joining an agency.

TR:In terms of designers across the African continent and the world as a globe whom are you  aiming to work with?
CC:Thankfully for me, I am working with an ideal designer. I have wanted to work with a certain type of designer more than wanting to work with a specific designer. I am working with Sandile Ngwenya, of Sanz.
She is the ideal designer because she is capable of expressing her ideas. Ideas that are artistic because they are colourful, emotional and carry depth.
She understands her niche very well so I am honoured to be a part of her vision.

TR:Many believe that modelling is influenced by masculinity and fitness what is your take on that concept?
CC:From my perspective, I do not believe modelling is influenced by masculinity.
While there are different threads that make up the modelling industry, fitness modelling has a place in it as well. I think it is healthy to have these different facets so there is a wider appeal, which broadens the audience.

TR:What are your major goals you planning to achieve in the modelling industry?
CC:My goal is to bring in creative expression to the industry. I seek to share my ideas and also be able to be the muse for a designer to share their ideas as well.

TR:State at least 4 fashion destinations you would like to visit in?
CC:Paris, Milan, New York and Japan
